While working on their latest record, the musicians of the St-Pete-based extreme metal band Coma have stayed true to their main principle – do what thou wilt regardless of what those around you may say or what the flavor of the day may be at the moment.
The band’s new album «A Splinter of a Star» comprises elements of nearly all trends found on the brutal scene these days. From alternative to death metal to progressive, and to sympho-rock. The most fitting description given to the band’s style was given by one of the local journalists who baptized their music as electric metal. The lyrics on «A Splinter of a Star» are filled with allegories, spectacular images, and philosophical thoughts.
Another serious bonus of this CD is the quality of the recording itself. The thick, snappy, but at the same time “readable” sound, once again proves the competitive ability of our bands on the international market. As a matter of fact, all of the early Coma’s work gained a lot of critical acclaim from both Russian and international press. The CD also contains an enhanced multimedia section with a video. |
