This pagan folk band was established in 2000. KALENDAR united several musicians who works in various genres, from typical folk rock to jazz. That is why the band is well know by its feeling of freedom using the elements of various styles of music and instruments. Since the beginning the band relies on European sacral tradition and its magical world view. KALENDAR actively plays live in Moscow, St.-Petersburg, Sevastopol and other cities of Russia and other ex-USSR countries. The band regularly participates in various festivals. In 2003, the band started to get "heavier" and moved into more of a "fantasy/mystical rock" with a taste of Slavic, Scandinavian and Celtic folklore.
